EDGE programming focuses on literacy, parent engagement, connecting students to their community and relationship building across all community sectors. We look forward to partnering with our community to give kids and families an EDGE.
History
Many of us remember the excitement of book order day – studying the order form to find the perfect book, counting piggy bank contents hoping there was enough. It is a goal of EDGE Nebraska City to help students have those same moments. When a child selects their own reading material it engages them more and further develops their literacy skills.
In the fall of 2016, a dedicated group of community members began to meet and discuss growing community trends. From those meetings, the idea of EDGE Nebraska City was born. We are passionate about seeing declining poverty rates in our community by 2036 and we are dedicated to helping all families discover new opportunities so they can create big dreams and meet their goals.
Programs
EDGE offers something for every age group. From Reader’s EDGE (Baby to 2nd Grade), to Citizen’s EDGE (3rd-5th Grades), to Leader’s EDGE (6th through 12 grades) – we strive to help students build skills necessary for life. We also offer education in the community for parents and community leaders. Working together, we’ll build a stronger future for Nebraska City.
