What is an endowment?
An endowment fund is money invested and managed for growth to fund charitable activity. Donors gift money or stock to a nonprofit and the resulting investment income helps fund the work of the nonprofit.
How is the gift to the EDGE Endowment different from a donation to EDGE?
A general donation to EDGE is used for immediate operating costs and typically not invested. An endowment gift builds the managed fund that generates growth for the sustainability of EDGE.
How will an EDGE endowment impact Nebraska City?
An endowment of our goal of $500,000 will ensure long-term sustainability that will allow EDGE Nebraska City to meet the needs of the community for generations. The endowment will help us move the needle of poverty in Nebraska City and give ALL kids and families an edge.
