The Tree City Garden Club has awarded Teresa and Colin Albers of 608 Wildwood Lane with the July Yard of the Month honor.

Rosie Pfeiffer, who selects the award recipient for the club, said she thought the Albers have “an uplifting home to drive by.”

Teresa Albers said she likes color and flowers, as well as having something different in the yard each season. She said the landscaping has evolved over the years since the Albers family moved into the home in 1990.

Grimm’s Gardens helped the Albers with some of the larger landscaping projects. Colin keeps the lawn in order, and Teresa tends to the flowers.

The back yard is full of day lilies and is visited by a variety of wildlife, including possums, deer, raccoons, and wild turkeys, said Colin Albers. He said the field to the west of their house was full of wildflowers when they moved in.

Teresa Albers believes their home’s location is “a little of the city and the country at the same time.”
